First appointment: NUTRITION ASSESSMENT

(60 mins - $210)

I will gather information about your health and eating-related concerns, as well as what you want to get out of our work together. This will help determine the risk of nutrition concerns and help us plan priorities for future sessions.

Subsequent appointments: FOLLOW-UP

(50 mins - $180)

Every 2-4 weeks is recommended, but you can choose what works for you. Sessions are tailored to you to help you overcome your specific challenges.

  • We can discuss what and how much to eat to make sure you get the nutrition you need.

This can include developing a personalized meal plan tailored to your nutritional requirements, preferences, and recovery goals.

  • We can fill in the gaps in your understanding of nutrition with some “Nutrition 101” - things like energy balance, what our body uses nutrients for, what normal eating means, and dispelling myths about food.

  • Talking about your struggles with food can help you to identify your triggers and emotional responses to food.

And, if you’ve never talked to someone about your eating before it might take some time to find the words and get comfortable sharing what your’e struggling with.

  • We can work on making small, gradual changes to behaviour that will be sustainable over the long-term and lead to meaninful change.

Your struggles and goals are unique to you, which means the support you need is unique too.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, but I am here to support you with whatever you need related to food or eating.

How can nutrition counselling help?

  • We can work on challenging your fears and breaking food rules by making a plan for gradual exposures in a way that feels manageable to you. We can also discuss skills and strategies to help cope with the fear and anxiety that might come up.

  • We can do a meal or snack in session. That way you can get in-the-moment support and guidance, helping you navigate challenging situations and emotions related to eating.

And don’t worry, I’ll eat with you so it doesn’t feel too awkward.

  • We can talk about coping strategies and behavioral techniques to overcome disordered eating patterns, such as binge eating, purging, or restrictive behaviors.

  • We can talk about the practical aspects of food like planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
